Is FeedbackLoop AI really free?
Yes. The self-hosted version is 100% free and open source under the MIT license. You get unlimited sessions, unlimited feedback, and full feature parity. The only requirement is providing your own API keys for AI features (OpenRouter) and email notifications (SendGrid).
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Free is self-hosted — you run the entire stack on your own infrastructure and manage updates, backups, and scaling. Pro is cloud-managed — we handle everything. Pro also includes AI credits and email delivery, so you don't need your own API keys.
Do I need my own OpenRouter API key?
Only on the free self-hosted plan. You'll need an OpenRouter API key for AI qualification and deep analysis, and optionally a SendGrid key for email notifications. On Pro and Enterprise, AI and email are fully included.
Can I migrate from self-hosted to cloud?
Yes. We provide migration tooling to move your PostgreSQL data, session recordings, and configuration from self-hosted to the Pro or Enterprise cloud. Contact support and we'll assist with the full migration at no extra cost.
What AI models are supported?
FeedbackLoop AI uses OpenRouter, which gives access to GPT-4o, GPT-4o-mini, Claude, Gemini, Llama, and dozens of other models. On Pro, we use gpt-4o-mini by default for the best cost/quality balance. Enterprise customers can use any model, including private or fine-tuned ones.
Is there a session replay limit?
Self-hosted: no limit whatsoever. Pro: 10,000 sessions per month (each session is a single user visit). Enterprise: unlimited. Replays are stored as lightweight JSONL event streams — not video files — so storage stays efficient even at scale.
Do you support GDPR compliance?
Yes. FeedbackLoop AI includes IP anonymization (last octet zeroed), per-element masking (data-hl-mask, data-hl-block), three-layer bot filtering, and automatic password field exclusion. Self-hosted gives you full control over data residency. Cloud plans offer EU or US data centers.
Can I use this with WordPress?
Yes. We provide a WordPress plugin that installs the tracker and feedback widget with one click. It works on all plans, including the free self-hosted version. The plugin handles auto-configuration, so there's no manual script injection needed.
What happens when I exceed Pro limits?
We don't cut you off. If you exceed 10,000 sessions or 5,000 feedback items in a billing cycle, we'll notify you and continue recording for a grace period. You can upgrade to Enterprise or purchase additional capacity at any time — no data loss.
Is there a free trial for Pro?
Yes. Pro includes a 14-day free trial with full features and no credit card required. After the trial, you can continue with Pro, or downgrade to the free self-hosted plan and keep all your data.
